Focus Groups Provided Valuable Input

Parents thoughts and perceptions of the translations were of major importance to the glossary’s development.  The Project received input from ninety (90) parents/caregivers of children receiving services under IDEA through a series of focus groups.  Families from a diversity of Spanish-speaking cultures participated in the focus groups.

During Part II of the Glossary Project Focus groups of Spanish-speaking families were conducted by six (6) Parent Centers:

  • Advocates for Children
NY
  • Parent to Parent of Miami
Fl
  • PEAK Parent Center
CO
  • The Parents’ Place of Maryland
MD
  • WI FACETS
WI
  • Statewide Parent Advocacy Network
NJ
