Workshops

SPAN offers workshops for parents, professionals and practitioners.  These sessions offer information and resources combined with hands-on activities so you can:  Develop new skills and apply this new knowledge in real life situations;  Increase your knowledge of your rights regarding your child’s educational or health needs;  and connect with other parents who “understand” what you are experiencing.  There are dozens of topics in education, special education, health care, mental health, youth self-advocacy and more.  Take a look - sign up for a workshop today!

NJSNCC Webinar Series

Special education is a complicated process.  Students do better when their parents are informed about their rights.  This 6 session webinar series will provide you with tips, tools and techniques that you need to be an active participant in edcuational decisions regarding a child receiving special education services.  This series will provide you with 1) an overview of the major components of the special education process, 2) useful tools to help you through the process and 3) helpful tips & techniques you can use in meetings and school communications.  All sessions are from 12:00 noon - 1:00 PM.  You can register for the entire series or just the sessions you're interested in!

Customized Trainings & Workshops

SPAN is a non-profit agency. Each year, we provide a limited number of FREE county-based and regional workshops open to all.  We can offer customized workshops and development opportunities for schools, districts, agencies and community-based agencies on a fee-for-service basis.  For details, contact our Director of Parent and Professional Development.

 


TRANSLATION & INTERPRETATION:  We offer most workshops in Spanish, as well as English.  We can also provide workshops in other language upon request.  Sign Language interpretation can also be made available. Please let us know your translation & interpretation needs.
